Beginning of the end uses a biblical metaphor to describe that our protagonists’ life is coming to an end, much like the end of days. Angels fighting demons and a dying planet could be that last of the body’s will to carry on. And also the final memories before being at death’s door. ( life flashing before one's eyes.)

Lights catch my gaze

People rising from the ashes
of what once was
This once beautiful creation
the home of man

And as I descend they rise to the sky
And I stay here and watch as the whole world dies

Clutching broken pieces of glass
Thinking what it could have been

So what is this mess I’m in

Smoke fills the air

Mountains crumble oceans die
entire cities laid to waste
while man ascends in blinding light
and human souls flood through the gates

Guardian and demon collide

of houses where families once stayed
painting pictures of their past
using every ounce of strength to make this moment last

I hold the fate of this planet
